Celebrating a whole year of CE People!
This month marks a very special milestone for us as we celebrate one whole year of CE People! It only feels right that this month’s blog is a heartfelt one from the two of us.
From building a strong client base and being shortlisted for an industry award, to leading large-scale performance reviews and forming valued partnerships within our local community. It has been a truly exciting year for us and one that we are incredibly grateful for.
Together, we have over 20 years combined experience in the world of HR and we knew we wanted to bring something different and exciting to our HR Consultancy. And that’s where, in June 2024 CE People was born.
In our very first year, we’ve had the privilege of supporting 28 clients across a wide variety of industries, from professional services and hospitality to beauty and manufacturing. Whether helping businesses without in-house HR or supporting teams with extra capacity, we’ve been proud to offer services tailored to each unique need.
Bringing something different to the HR table, as a small but passionate team of two, we pride ourselves on taking a hands-on approach, becoming an extension to our clients’ teams. Our mission is simple, to work with SMEs to provide the right HR services, creating a culture where people want to work and staff want to say. With real results, combined with positive client feedback, we continue to do just this.
As we reflect on our first year, here’s just a snapshot of what we have been up to:
- Built strong partnerships with 10 key suppliers.
- Delivered high-profile projects, including a whistleblowing line for a blue-chip company, grievance investigations, and a 50-employee performance review.
- Developed and rolled out multiple contract and handbook updates across our client’s businesses.
- Supported businesses through restructures, settlements and complex employee relations cases.
- Launched our LinkedIn which has already gained over 400 followers and 33,000 impressions.
- Introduced our CE People newsletter, now reaching over 150 subscribers and growing steadily.
These are just some of our highlights from the past year, but it doesn’t stop there. We were also incredibly proud to be shortlisted for the Breathe Partner Summit New Business Award just eight months after launching – a huge moment for us and a real testament to the impact we’re making.
In addition, we featured on the All Things Business podcast which was a fantastic opportunity for us to share our knowledge as industry experts and get a feel for life behind the mic!
So, how can we top all of that?
As we enter our second year, we’re excited to keep building on everything we’ve learned and achieved so far. There are plenty of exciting plans in the pipeline, so here’s a little preview of what’s to come:
- Develop and roll out leadership and line manager training to upskill client teams.
- Introduce wellbeing support programmes for employees.
- Implement HR platforms (e.g., Breathe) across multiple client businesses to streamline HR processes.
- Develop a suite of ready-to-use HR documentation packages for SMEs.
- Continue to increase our digital presence through newsletters, LinkedIn content and thought leadership.

Finally, we’ve also just launched our charity partner of the year, the Tor-Rox Foundation, an incredible charity changing lives through exercise.
Founded by the incredible Victoria (Tor) Skinner, who is living with terminal cancer, this foundation funds specialist fitness programmes for people undergoing cancer treatment – helping them regain strength, confidence and control.
